Artists, Susanne Davies and Hazel Colquhoun (Co-Artistic Director of York Curiouser), will talk about the challenges of artists working in the public realm.

Susanne Davies is based in York. She recently completely a major commission for the new City of York Council offices. Her favoured medium is embroidery thread which she uses to create delicate, thoughtful artworks.

Susanne describes the new work she is creating for York Curiouser:
'The work stems from my interest in traditional feminine spaces and ways of making. I shall be looking at repetitive, domestic actions and histories that take their form from the architectural space in which they happened. I plan to incorporate elements of mechanics and repetitive motion in the work I produce at the site’.

Hazel Colquhoun is a public art commissioning agent and curator based in York and working throughout the UK.
