Why do flowers close at night? Why do heart attacks often occur in the morning? The answers lie in circadian body clocks present in all organisms.

Come along and find out how University of York scientists are investigating circadian clocks and their implications for food, health and disease prevention. Circadian clocks govern all aspects of an organism’s behaviour and physiology. Hands-on science activities and demonstrations will help you understand the workings of circadian clocks and how they are important for an organism’s survival in a daily fluctuating environment. Learn about the link between sleep, clocks and health, and how circadian clocks can be harnessed to improve crop yields and support healthy living.
