Enjoy the Foss Fairy Trail, a magical hidden world built by fairies on the banks of the river Foss. Explore the fairy village and discover the folklore, flora and fauna of their enchanted home.

Walk into a small woodland to find another fairy village, further hidden fairy houses, a wildlife area and pond. From there, head up to the cycle track which leads to other interesting areas including St Nicholas Fields.

Ready to get started?

Find maps and further information on the Foss Fairy Trail website and prepare to step into an enchanted world.

The entrance gate can be found on the A1036. Look on the right, just before the bridge over the river Foss and the roundabout with exits to Foss Islands Road, Monkgate and Huntington Road.

Please note: Currently the trail is not accessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters. The walkway by the river is on uneven ground and some sections are narrow and close to the river.
