Gain a unique behind-the-scenes insight into the co-development of a neuroscience-based mental health and wellbeing curriculum for primary schools, Foundations for Wellbeing.
The curriculum was developed by the PSHE Association in collaboration with the University of York, UK, and will support schools to teach children knowledge and skills that will contribute toward supporting their mental health and wellbeing during childhood and throughout life.
Join Joshua Stubbs, Head of Research at the PSHE Association and Associate at the University of York, to learn more. His talk follows on from the in-person event, Learning for Mental Health and Wellbeing, at last year’s Festival.
This event will take place live on Zoom Webinar. You will receive a link to join a couple of days before the event and a reminder an hour before. During the event, you can ask questions via a Q&A function, but audience cameras and microphones will remain muted throughout.

About the speaker
Dr Joshua Stubbs is Head of Research at the PSHE Association and an Associate at the University of York. He oversaw the development of Foundations for Wellbeing, an evidence-based mental health and wellbeing PSHE education curriculum for primary schools. Previously, he worked as a mental health nurse on a child and adolescent mental health ward in Birmingham, before studying Education at the Universities of Oxford and York. He has lectured on the University of York’s MSc in Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education and published research in peer-reviewed international journals. He is also passionate about communicating scientific research in clear and engaging ways.
