Council for British Archaeology Open Day
Event details
The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) would like to welcome you to their offices to find out more about archaeology and the work they do across the UK. Talk to CBA staff about the range of work they do and have a go at some hands-on activities.
The CBA’s core work is focused on promoting archaeology and helping people participate. Learn more about their five key areas of activity which support their membership, deliver their events and projects, underpin their statutory role as a National Amenity Society, support their publications, and deliver their youth engagement programmes.
The CBA also wants to hear from you – there’ll be activities and discussion points ready to help you share what archaeology means to you. This is your chance to let the CBA know what you would like to see from them in the future.
All are welcome, just drop in between 11am and 3pm. You don't need to have any previous knowledge or experience with archaeology, just an interest in finding out more.
The CBA office is located in De Grey House, between the De Grey Rooms and York Theatre Royal. The office is on the ground floor of the building, but there are steps up to the entrance. The event is wheelchair accessible but if possible, please let CBA know you’ll be coming in advance so they can make sure they are ready to welcome you. If you have any questions about the event, please contact events@archaeologyuk.org.
You may also be interested in another Council for British Archaeology event taking place during the Festival ‘An Archaeological Ramble Around York’ on Friday 13 June.
