Pressure Waves: Role playing the end of the world
Event details
In 1983, civil servants gathered to role play the descent into world war and nuclear conflict. Taking the place of senior politicians, their responses scripted imagined reactions and decisions, providing an insight into the psychological impact of this ultimate responsibility.
That exercise, WINTEX-CIMEX, is held in the National Archives. Pressure Waves will consider the WINTEX-CIMEX document within both the political context of the time and in reflection of our current global situation.
Join us for dramatised extracts from the WINTEX-CIMEX document and an expert discussion panel.
Pressure Waves is staged as part of ‘Forewarned is Forearmed’ marking the centenary of the Royal Observer Corps.
