Event details

Scientists have been responsible for the most important advances in medicine and healthcare. These include identifying new drug treatments, driving vaccine development, discovering antiseptics and unlocking the secrets of our genes.

Join scientific experts at York St John University as they take you on a hands-on journey through several of these advances in the Bioscience Laboratories. Examine your own microbiome, analyse some DNA and look at what’s in blood. Learn how these techniques remain central in the fight against disease in our hospitals and communities. Trained biomedical scientists are now the crucial profession tasked with using these approaches to analyse patient samples, diagnose disease and monitor treatment response.

Join us as we explore all this and more in a fun and informal fashion.

This hands-on event is suitable for ages 10+
