Recognising Unique Wellbeing Needs Karisha George
Event details
It’s widely recognised that people from underrepresented backgrounds - identified by factors including race and ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic status, etc - face unique challenges that affect their wellbeing. While this has led to numerous support initiatives, psychologist Karisha George will argue that these continue to ignore the complex realities of people with multiple underrepresented identities.
Join Karisha and learn why a more holistic ‘intersectional lens’ approach which recognises individuals’ unique experiences is required to ensure everyone is fully supported. Only through this approach is true empowerment achieved.
