Event details

As part of the York Cares' Environment and Sustainability week, volunteers are supporting St Nicks’ work at Fulford Ings to learn more about Himalayan Balsam and take part in some balsam bashing. Come along and find out more about this work on a gentle 2km walk.

The event links to York Cares’ Environment and Sustainability programme which encourages volunteering together on practical activities for the benefit of the environment and the long-term sustainability of our city.

Please note:

  • It would really help us with our planning if you were able to let us know via our google form if you were intending to come along.
  • Suitable for all abilities and ages 8+.
  • The meeting point at Fulford Ings is the University Boathouse - w3w: organ.lamp.fuels
  • Please dress appropriately for balsam bashing. We’d recommend a long-sleeved top and trousers, sturdy footwear (no open-toed shoes), and a waterproof jacket/suncream depending on the weather.
