Grand Opening of the York Festival of Ideas

Posted on 9 June 2011

The Grand Opening of the York Festival of Ideas takes place on Thursday 16th June at 6 pm at the Ron Cooke Hub, University of York.

The opening event will include a short talk by the renowned Irish photographer, John Minihan, about his amazing exhibition of Beckett photos.

This will be followed by a reception at which we will be serving Pimms, canapés, and strawberries, not to mention a magnificent Festival of Ideas cake, kindly donated by Betty's. Entertainment will be provided by a jazz band from the University. Please come and celebrate with us and enjoy the fabulous multi-media displays which are part of the Beckett exhibition. We also want you to experience the unique atmosphere of the Hub atrium in which we have created a beautiful 'island of green', a carpet of real grass, generously installed for the exhibition courtesy of Lindum, a local turf company.

We are confident that this will be a memorable event for all.
