Event details

Church buildings are among the most fascinating and revealing of heritage sites. York is particularly well served for historic churches, with many places of worship remaining in use on the same site for many centuries and retaining their original features.

Join experienced guide Rob Andrews for a walking tour of two of York’s most historic churches – Holy Trinity, Goodramgate and All Saints North Street. Rob will introduce you to the history of each building and help you to spot the features which reveal more about its past. The tour will be relaxed, with plenty of time for questions and a break for refreshments at All Saints.

Accessibility: Holy Trinity Church, Goodramgate is wheelchair accessible except for the sunken chapel. Entry to the site is easiest via Hornpot Lane. The floors are uneven throughout and lighting levels may be low since the interior is lit only by daylight. All Saints North Street is wheelchair accessible except for the chancel, high altar, and anchorhold, though some floors are uneven due to the historic nature of the building.
