Event details

LUMA Film and TV Festival champions the work of budding filmmakers at the University of York, in a colourful two-day event showcasing all student films created this year in the School of Arts and Creative Technologies.

Join us for an exciting Friday full of year-group screenings, allowing you to vote on your favourite films from our first, second and third-year students. There'll be a launch event in the evening, with snacks, drinks, games and challenges where you can come and network with the filmmakers of the future in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Saturday kicks off with a panel hosted by industry professionals, dissecting current issues within the film and television space - come and find out more about the industry and meet some exciting names. There'll be lots of room for questions and opportunities to learn more about the craft of filmmaking from local creators.

Join us at a ticketed Gala awards ceremony on Saturday evening to watch the winning films, voted on by a panel of professionals. Whether you are a creative yourself, or want to find out more about the craft, why not come along and celebrate the passion and creativity of the filmmakers of the future.
