As York musician David Ward Maclean nears retirement, enjoy a night of reflection celebrating his lifelong love of song, and find out how words and music work together in his compositions.

Over two half-hour sets, David will perform half a dozen of his songs from the past 20 years, talking about how they evolved and welcoming audience comments and questions. The night will include the premiere of a new(ish) song, The Journey.

A drinks bar will be available on the night.

About the performer

David Ward Maclean has been part of the York music scene for over 30 years, both as a performer and songwriter. He has supported John Martyn, Jack Bruce, John James, Ralph McTell, Dougie Maclean, Martin Carthy, Jethro Tull, John Otway, Jon Gomm, Edwina Hayes, Chris Helme, Woody Mann, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and The Howl & The Hum.
