Event details

Daniel Cook, Master of the Choristers and Organist of Durham Cathedral, will demonstrate the power and versatility of the magnificent 1959 Walker organ in St Helen’s Church with music from Britain and Germany.

Continuously in use supporting the weekly worship, the mighty organ is also available for recitals during the summer season. The programme will include works by J S Bach and Francis Jackson among others. It will also include Mendelssohn’s Sixth Organ Sonata and will culminate in the famous Postlude in D minor by Stanford, marking the centenary of his death in 1924.
