York City Centre (map)

Wheelchair accessible

I spy with my little eye a clock, a cat and a flag! Enjoy a circular walking route around York city centre, with 22 weird and wonderful things to spot along the way.

The family I Spy Trail will have you strolling down snickleways, gaping at the city’s medieval gates and ambling down the Shambles, ticking off iconic and eccentric landmarks as you go.

Simply put on your shoes, collect a map and off you go. Follow the route and see how many things you can tick off. Top marks if you get them all (some are obvious but others are trickier, so you’ll need to keep your wits about you and don’t forget to look up.)

Ready to get started?

Simply download a high-quality version of the map here or pick one up from the Visit York Information Centre on Parliament Street.

Please note: Always be aware of your surroundings when following the map. Parts of the tour may include crossing roads.
