What does the spleen do in the human body? How did people in the past treat a variety of diseases? Come along to this hands-on interactive event which explores the treatment and prevention of a range of chronic diseases and disorders that affect people of all ages. Featuring a giant nose, hands-on interpretative arts engagement, and a cow’s spleen, this city-centre event (based in a marquee in St Sampson’s Square) provides an opportunity to talk face-to-face with scientists and others to develop an understanding about the various dimensions of chronic diseases and disorders – scientifically and historically.
Drop in throughout the day, 10am to 4pm, no booking required.
This event is supported by the University's new
Centre for Chronic Diseases and Disorders (C2D2) which has been set up with funding by the
Wellcome Trust to coordinate and maximise the University's wide-ranging research in the key interdisciplinary field of chronic health and disability.
Location: St Sampson's Square, Parliament Street, York
