Science Out of the Lab: Chronic Diseases and Disorders (for schools)

What does the spleen do in the human body? How did people in the past treat a variety of diseases? Come along to this hands-on interactive event which explores the treatment and prevention of a range of chronic diseases and disorders that effect people of all ages. Featuring a giant nose, hands-on interpretative arts engagement, and a cow’s spleen, this city-centre event (based in a marquee in St Sampson’s Square) provides an opportunity to talk face-to-face with scientists and others to develop an understanding about the various dimensions of chronic diseases and disorders – scientifically, historically and archaeologically. 

Age groups: Aimed at Key Stage 2 (to complement the National Curriculum: Science- Life processes and living things (Health)), but older school groups accepted
