Event details

Have you ever wondered what happens to a hospital sample once it’s been taken? What white-coated scientists and technicians get up to all day (and night)? Or how COVID-19 has changed things?

In this hands-on session, let Adam Odell and his team introduce you to some key laboratory techniques currently used in hospital labs, and hear about new ways to diagnose and monitor diseases and improve the future of modern healthcare.

With input from York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the team from Biosciences at York St John University will guide you through the process of sample collection, processing and data reporting, and answer all your questions about Biomedical Science and the positive impact research has on our society.
