Event details

Join us for a weekend building time machines. We’ll be in the historic setting of King’s Manor to investigate the Middle Ages through data and technology - with a particular focus on the medieval manor: land owned and traded by powerful nobles whose records give us glimpses of ordinary medieval lives from ale tasters to outlaws.

Advice and guidance will be available from historians, archivists and computer scientists from the National Archives and the University of York, and we will have a display of original documents from the Borthwick Institute.

Our expert panel of judges will determine the winners at the end of the weekend and award prizes fit for a Lord or Lady of the Manor.

Suitable for ages 18+. Make sure you bring your own laptop

Please note that there is limited wheelchair access.

This event can also be accessed remotely. Please contact the National Archives directly to find out how: mdr@nationalarchives.gov.uk
