In this two-hour creative writing workshop, open to all, we will look at ways that writers establish order from what is often a sense of creative chaos. Led by writer and Teaching Fellow for Creative Writing, Lizzi Linklater (Centre for Learning), the session will lead writers to take risks, make unlikely associations and produce original and authentic work.
Lizzi Linklater is a creative writer, a performance poet, an events organiser and a member of the music/poetry collaboration Sounds Lyrical Project.
She runs support groups for local writers and edits anthologies for its members as well as for her creative writing students at the University. She has been the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching and Learning Excellence (2010), and a Gold VC Award for Inclusivity in 2013. She is currently Teaching Fellow for Creative Writing at the University of York (Centre for Lifelong Learning) where she is the leading tutor on the Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing (online) due to begin in September 2014. Her publications include: Making Memories York University, 2013; Chaffinches set to music by David Power 2012; Lives Remembered: Volumes I, II, III, IV, York University, 2011,2012; Ekphrasis: Re-imagining York.
