Curated by Hazel Colquhoun and Lara Goodband In the corners of the city, in the middle of snickets, in the bell towers and bars, something is unfolding: new sources are whispering and shaping the story of the streets, drawing us onwards through spaces that others have touched and transformed. Find specially commissioned artworks by John Wedgwood Clarke, Susanne Davies, Matt Hawthorn, Sally Greaves-Lord, Heinrich & Palmer, Janet Hodgson, Damian Murphy, Jacques Nimki, and Karen Thompson in these hidden corners of York:

  • King’s Manor courtyard - daily from 10am to 6.30pm
  • Merchant Adventurers’ Hall grounds - Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm; Friday and Saturday, 10am to 3.30pm; Sunday, 11am to 4pm
  • City walls near the Quilt Museum and St Anthony’s Garden - daily from 10am to 5pm
  • The Red Tower - daily, during daylight hours
  • Fishergate Postern Tower - Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm
  • National Centre for Early Music - daily from 10am to 5pm
  • The Foss (Foss Islands Road to Fossgate) - Saturday 28 June, 12noon to 10pm

Look for the York Curiouser logo throughout the programme for even more events by the artists, and keep your eyes peeled around York city centre to spot porcelain sandwiches created by Karen Thompson.
