This lively talk will explore what makes afternoon tea such an addictive and guilty pleasure enjoyed by so many.  We will consider the key bits of chemistry which make a luxury afternoon tea special - from jam and scones, to tea and champagne.  Along the way we will find out how afternoon tea might not be quite as English as you thought.
