A presentation of famous and not-so-famous poetry spanning the century of war and peace before and after the two world wars. Chosen poems explore how both order and chaos have (as in science) been embraced by modern poets in their search for meaning, and ‘the butterfly effect’ of words both to fan flames and calm turmoil. The poetry will be performed by poets from around York and directed by local writer, Helen Shay, who has past experience with several Yorkshire performance poetry groups.
