Current scientific calculation puts the Earth at over 4.5 billion years old, but humans have only been on its surface for a fraction of that time. When did we start to become aware of deep time? And who decided – and decides - how to measure it? Join York Museums Trust (YMT) Curator Sarah King to find out more.
The event includes a rare chance to handle the oldest object in the YMT’s collections, the unique Middlesbrough Meteorite, which is the same age as the Solar System.
Sarah King is the Curator of Natural Science for York Museums Trust.
