Meet inspiring University of York PhD students and learn how their cutting-edge research is expanding knowledge and understanding of our world and beyond. In a challenge against the clock, competing students each have just three minutes to explain how their ideas can answer the big cultural, economic and scientific questions of our time.

Join us for the final of York’s Three Minute Thesis competition, hosted by former BBC Director General, Greg Dyke.

During the event, you will be invited to take part in a live vote for the 'People's Choice' award.
If you'd like to play along at home, we attach the judging form here 3MT judging sheets (MS Word , 85kb)

About 3MT

3MT® competitions challenge participants to explain their research effectively and concisely to a non-specialist audience in three minutes, helping to develop their presentation and research communication skills. Communicating to different audiences helps demonstrate the contribution that research makes to wider society and the economy. The University of York 3MT® is a chance for our research students to engage and enthuse a range of learners about their research.
