Event details

Discover the organ as an instrument of place - shaped by architecture, ritual and memory.

While music by Praetorius and Bach reflects the inherited sacred spaces of early modern Europe, works by Judith Bingham and Rachel Laurin engage more directly with space itself: its resonance, its tension and its capacity to transform sound into experience. Heard together, these composers reveal the organ not as a historical artefact, but as a living voice within the spaces it inhabits.

Join organist James Short for a journey through the echoes of the past and the vibrant textures of the present.

This event is presented by St Helen Stonegate.

The event is free, but a retiring collection will be taken.
