Direct from Cincinnati, Ohio, 25 members of the Glee Club at Elder High School are crossing the Atlantic with a joyful programme of music. On tour to England and Scotland, catch them at St Helen’s Church for a mixed repertoire of popular, musical theatre, folk, spiritual and sacred music.
Gaining prominence in the US in the late 19th century, Glee Clubs - show choirs - remain a vibrant tradition in American high schools.

The event is free, but a retiring collection will be taken.
About the performers
Elder High School is an all-boys high school located in Cincinnati, Ohio, US. The Elder Glee Club is 50 members, grades 9-12 (ages 14-18). For their concert tour to England and Scotland there are 25 students travelling, aged from 14 to 20, including three recent glee club alums who are now in college. The Elder Glee Club has travelled all over the US and much of Europe since 1976 and has been led by director David F. Allen since 1968. David is not travelling with the Glee Club for this tour and the co-directors for this tour are Justin Kohler and Marco Colant. The Elder Glee Club has a wide range repertoire of music, including American Folk and Pop, Broadway, Traditional Men's TTBB 4-part harmony and sacred music for Mass.
