Event details

Experience how new perspectives on a changing planet emerge from the fusion of old and new technologies: aerial kites and artificial intelligence.

Join us for an exhibition of multimedia artworks that seek to tell new stories about how humans and machines sense and make sense of the environment, suggesting paths towards a better future.

Why not drop by to view the exhibition - created as part of a research project in partnership with the York Environmental Sustainability Institute (YESI) - and meet its creator, Richard Carter of the University of York’s School of Arts and Creative Technologies.

Richard will be giving two 20-minute talks at 6.30pm and 7.30pm. (No booking required.)

About the speaker

Dr Richard A Carter is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Culture at the University of York. Richard’s practice combines art and research to explore new possibilities for digital technology, and to tell new stories about it, beyond the norms we are used to. Richard is particularly interested in tackling the often-fraught relationships between technology and the environment, and to see how we can encourage better futures through doing so.
