Event details

Collecting the real haunted experiences of York residents, Living Lore: The Ghost Stories of Contemporary York is a new co-production between Skald Theatre Group and the York Society of Hauntologists.

Bringing together talented local performers and avid hauntologists, it gives a voice to those stories which happen around us every day but are seldom featured in the mainstream canon of York’s haunted history.

All the stories are collected from interviews and given life through this live storytelling performance in the Skald style. The performance is part of a wider project looking at space and place, and de-commercialising our city’s ghostly reputation, as well as keeping the oral tradition of storytelling alive.

Join us as we share these slices of life and lay the foundations of the ghostly legends to be told a hundred years from now.

This event is presented by Skald Theatre Group.
