Planetary Health: Dissolving the human frame Pim Martens
Event details
Planetary health views the Earth as a living system whose condition directly determines human health and wellbeing. Climate change and biodiversity loss are already pushing the planet beyond safe boundaries, undermining food, water, disease regulation and quality of life.
Pim Martens of Maastricht University in the Netherlands explains how the field of planetary health takes a systems and post-disciplinary perspective, recognising that humans, ecosystems and non-human life are deeply interconnected. Join Pim as he explains why sustainability must move from ‘doing less harm’ to actively regenerating natural systems.
