Creating Inclusive Internet Communities Snehasish Banerjee, Ariadne Kapetanaki and Anjan Pal
Event details
With widespread internet use, we are increasingly exposed to digital threats such as misinformation, scams and clickbait. Many people, including but not only older adults, often lack the confidence in using technology.
Wonder how you can support those who may not be as confident as you are in using technology? Or do you want to talk about your own experiences and challenges with the Internet?
Then come along to this interactive drop-in event for people of all ages. Discover the latest research on how people over 65 in the UK are using the internet, and find out how we can better support each other in the face of digital threats.
The aim of this event is to bolster people’s internet literacy and, in particular, empower older people to use the Internet with greater confidence, also by showing those who interact with older people how they could support them.
Together, let’s take a small but important step to rebuild our online communities by making an effort towards bridging the digital divide in our society and encouraging each other to use the internet safely.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
