Their Finest Hour
Event details
Do you have any stories or items related to the Second World War? Would you like to share and preserve these for future generations?
Funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, ‘Their Finest Hour’ is a nationwide campaign that aims to digitally capture and digitise the stories and objects of WWII.
Come along to their Digital Collection Day at the York Army Museum!
Bring your diaries, letters, photos, memories, objects or tales about your family’s wartime experience, so that they can be recorded and added to a free-to-use online archive.
Please note: Unfortunately the museum stairlift is broken and awaiting repair. There is a flight of 11 steps from the museum entrance into the museum. Please call the museum in advance of your visit to check accessibility: 01904 461010.

York Army Museum
York Army Museum is home to the collections of the Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire and the Royal Dragoon Guards. One infantry, one cavalry, both are built on the histories of earlier regiments, spanning over 300 years of British military history. As a descendant of the Prince of Wales’s Own, the museum is also home to the collection of the modern Royal Regiment of Yorkshire.
