Event details

Come and join community environment charity St Nicks to see river restoration in action as part of the York Cares Big Community Challenge, which is happening throughout June with the aim of supporting river and wetland restoration at various locations across our city.

Learn about the York Becks project, a partnership between the Environment Agency, the City of York Council and St Nicks. This important project aims to recreate, restore and re-naturalise York’s urban watercourses so that they are teeming with wildlife and enjoyed by all.

At this drop-in event, you will …

  • Receive a tour of the site in Hull Road Park to see what work has been done so far
  • Have the opportunity to do some planting to improve habitats
  • And find out how the success of the Urban Becks project is being monitored by citizen-science ecological surveys.

Bring your wellies and be prepared to get your hands dirty!

No booking needed, just drop by!

You can also drop by between 5pm and 7pm.
