Dr Franks will be revealing recent scientific discoveries about the secret lives of killer whales. You will learn about killer whale social behaviour, with a focus on the evolution of menopause (yes – they have menopause) and the role of whale grannies. Along the way you will learn a thing or two about the similarities with human evolution.
Dan Franks is a Reader at the University of York in the York Centre for Complex Systems Analysis and a member of the Departments of Biology and Computer Science.
