New Music Weekend: Time-Space-Sound-Light
Event details
Join us for the online York New Music Weekend featuring the work of Christian Mason, an award-winning composer and alumnus of the University of York’s Department of Music.
This composer portrait includes premieres of new pieces as well as music by composers who have influenced him. Performers include members of the ensemble Octandre and pianist Rolf Hind. Interviews and recordings will contribute to a rounded profile of one of the UK’s leading young composers.
Other events over the weekend include an interactive video collaboration of dance, music and cinematography between the Scottish Ensemble, Scottish Dance Theatre and composer Martin Suckling: these bones, this flesh, this skin. The Chimera Ensemble will present two programmes including works by student and alumni composers.
