Event details

The musicians of Eboracum Baroque present The Story Orchestra: Four Seasons in One Day featuring Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

The story follows a little girl called Isabelle and her dog, Pickle on the adventure of a lifetime across the changing seasons. You’ll hear the spring blossom, feel the summer’s heat, gather in the autumn harvest and gasp at the cold of winter. Alongside the narration of the book (by Vivaldi himself) and projection of beautiful illustrations, hear the wonderful music of Vivaldi's Four Seasons performed on baroque instruments.

After the performance, learn about the baroque instruments Eboracum Baroque play and enjoy lots of activity resources from artwork to singing.

This is an online, pre-recorded concert. You will be sent a link and password in advance that can be used to access the performance on Friday 18 June at 2pm.

With thanks to our funders at the East Riding Music Hub who made this project possible.

About the performers

Eboracum Baroque is an ensemble of young professional singers and instrumentalists at the start of their classical music careers described as ‘Spectacular’ by Classic FM. The group was formed in 2012 by Chris Parsons at the University of York and the Royal College of Music and has performed all across the UK and Europe in prestigious venues and festivals including Senate House, Cambridge, The Temple Church, London and Christuskirche, Hannover. As well as their concert performances, they have given fully staged performances of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Handel’s Acis and Galatea.
